EASY Strawberry and Banana Kabobs with Chocolate

A sweet and delicious dessert.... that is perfect for the end of the summer! Strawberry and Banana Kabobs with Chocolate are so easy and fun to make, you can assemble in just a few minutes! Fun for serving at barbecues or picnics, and they make a darn good presentation!

We made these kabobs in late morning and refrigerated to keep them chilled till the afternoon. They made such a great impression, everyone LOVED them!  Kids too! We used only fresh strawberries and bananas, then we added powdered sugar, topped with a drizzle of semi-sweet melted chocolate. A refreshing and delicious treat for everyone to enjoy at anytime!

EASY Strawberry and Banana Kabobs with Chocolate
  • 1 package large fresh strawberries- rinsed, cut into 3 parts
  • 5 small bananas - peeled, cut into 4 quarter parts
  • 1/2 cup of powdered sugar
  • 1 cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
  • one package of 6 inch wooden skewers

Directions:

Rinse strawberries thoroughly in cold water and drain on paper towels.
Gently pat them dry.
Slice strawberries in 3 parts.  Keeping the tops for decoration.
Peel and slice bananas in 4 quarter parts, keeping them at bite size.

Pierce the top of each strawberry, the green stem goes on first.
Then pierce a piece of banana.
Alternate between Strawberries and Bananas, using with one entire strawberry and 2 parts of banana per skewer.

Once all skewers are completed, lay them side by side.
Sprinkle generously with powdered sugar.

The confectioners sugar on top will help prevent the bananas from turning brown.

Using a double boiler - melt one cup of semi sweet chocolate chips.
Once chocolate chips are melted, using a fork to drizzle melted chocolate onto skewers.

Allow the chocolate to cool.  Place a sheet of wax paper over the platter.  Immediately refrigerate until ready to serve!  Keep kabobs chilled up to 4 hours before serving,  this will help prevent the bananas from turning brown.

Enjoy!  Please leave us your comments, we would love to hear from you!
