With Halloween around the corner, chocolate covered pretzel rods with sprinkles is a fun project for kids to do on the weekend. My kids named these... Witches Wands! ...and just in time for Halloween next week. A quick treat to make in under 10 minutes!
I found these orange and brown sprinkles, and thought they would be great to use for some of the treats this holiday weekend.
Dark chocolate covered pretzel rods with sprinkles are crunchy, salty and has enough chocolate to satisfy your craving. And oh so good! Who wouldn't want one? This will surely appeal to all the kids in us!
Fun idea to serve at a party along with other treats, or maybe place a few pretzel "witches wands" in clear gift bags. Sealed with matching colored ribbons to give out at the end of a party. Cute idea!
Witches Wands! Chocolate Covered Pretzel Rods with Sprinkles
- 1 package of Pretzel Rods
- 1/4 pound of dark chocolate
- 2 tsp. heavy cream
- 1 small jar of orange and brown chocolate sprinkles
Using a double boiler on low heat, melt dark chocolate.
Add 2 teaspoons of heavy cream to give a smooth texture and a nice consistency to the chocolate.
Dip one pretzel rod at a time, or spoon the chocolate onto each rod. Gently shake off the excess.
Hold the rod over a bowl and gently sprinkle the pretzel rod.
Repeat with each pretzel rod.
Then place the rods onto a cookie sheet lined with wax paper. Cool completely.
Refrigerate for a few minutes until the chocolate sets.
Yields: about 12 witches wands!
What a genius idea for the kids to do! I think I will make these for my kids Halloween party this weekend as a party gift baggie..... :) Joanne S.
