White Pita Pizza with Mushrooms Ricotta and Herbs

White pizza baked with fresh button mushrooms, ricotta cheese and fresh herbs on a pita bread defines simple with a sophisticated flare!

An all white pita pizza is so delicious and different; the fresh sage gives this pizza an incredible aromatic flavor as it infuses with the melted ricotta and mozzarella cheese.  Oh, so good!

Making pita pizza's is fun and exciting for the whole family.  It's a perfect size for one person, and you can jazz it up with any healthy toppings of your choice!  It's fast and easy, with only 5 minutes to prepare and minimal baking time. Perfect!  Of course, this is Liz's creation when 2 years ago she had to improvise for a last minute dinner party.  How clever!

It's Friday, and we love having a "pizza night" with friends and family.  If the weather permits, its perfect for outdoor dining in the alfresco!  You can bake pita's in the oven or give them a smokey flavor by grilling them on the barbecue. You can compliment these with a side salad and some fun cocktails to go along with it, making this a light summer dinner.

What I LOVE about these pita pizza's, is that I can make as many pizza's as I need, which is the fun part!  Everyone will think who is in the kitchen whipping these out?  Shh.. Don't spoil the surprise and tell them, if you don't have to.
For mushroom lovers, try swapping the white buttons for some portobellos, creminis or even shiitakes!   Try empowering your kids and let them have fun making their own pita pizza night!  Give them healthy topping choices to choose from, they will be estastic!

Also,  try Liz's other Pita Pizza creation as well!   My high school and college daughters make these pita pizza's often !!  So I make sure I keep my Pita's well stocked!

  6. Pita pizzas! What a great idea girls! Everyone can have their own pizza party with these or even make up two pizzas! I have to remember that next time. I usually use naan bread when making a lunch time pizza, but will try pita bread next! :) xoxo, Jackie

  7. Anna and Liz, I LOVE white pizza! And how you made these so much easier to prepare with the use of pita bread is genius! I've used naan bread too, but it isn't as easy to find as pita bread! Thanks for the tip! Pizza parties are all the rage in my family and I'll have to try this recipe and also recommend it to my family too!
