After a long weekend of stress, because of a predicted major snow storm, ice storm, my teen ill with a virus, changing tickets to Texas and to New York, all to find out that it was not as BIG as the storm was predicted. I needed to get back to some normalcy.
Our family loves and eats avocados almost every day. So adding them to smoothies was a no brainer. Avocado provides not only nutrients, but also gives the rich and creamy texture to the smoothie, similar to a thick and rich milkshake. It also provides a healthy fat, leaving you feeling full and satisfied for most of the day.
I was out of kale, so I added in some Swiss chard to try it out, and since it's a "sister" to the super-food family, I thought why not? The taste was refreshing and sweet, leaving me feeling healthy all day.
