Cold Spinach Dip

Cold Spinach Dip is made easily with frozen spinach, sour cream, mayonnaise, green onions, water chestnuts and a vegetable soup mix.  This is an appetizer we love to serve on holidays while everyone settles in and before we sit down at the table.  My teens have been asking and craving for their all time favorite, my cold spinach dip, and here it is! It's a dip that is not only chilled but also very creamy, creamy as in " to-die-for-creamy."

This is one spinach dip full flavored with an added gentle crunch in every bite, making it totally addicting.

There's no cooking needed with this recipe; only combine all the ingredients and refrigerate for at least one hour.   Easy-peasy!

Spinach dip has been around for over 3 decades.  Everyone probably has made one similar, but if you haven't yet... then try this one!   The chopped water chestnuts adds that extra texture of crunch which brings this spinach dip to another level.  A guaranteed success when it goes on your table.

Perfect to make ahead and serve as an appetizer for this holiday weekend.  It is so quick to whip up for guests, you will be amazed!  Cold creamy spinach dip is a dip everyone will be asking for the recipe.

Try it!  Like I said, it's simple and super easy!  So addicting, it's definitely a winner !

Serve this dip chilled with slices of  crusty bread, pretzel chips, or crackers.
Enjoy how quickly it will disappear!

 Cold Spinach Dip

  • 2  packages Frozen chopped Spinach- thawed, and squeeze out liquid
  • 3/4 cup Mayonnaise
  • 1 (16 oz) container Sour Cream
  • 3  Scallions ( green onions)- chopped
  • 1 can Water Chestnuts- chopped
  • 1 package Vegetable Soup Mix
Place all ingredients into a bowl. Mix well and refrigerate for 1 hour.
Serve with pretzel chips, tortillas or sliced crusty bread.

Here's a Tip:  In the morning take out the packages of frozen spinach and leave on your counter to thaw.  When you return in the afternoon, just open and squeezed out the excess water.  Mix with the rest of ingredients,  takes about 5 minutes to put together, refrigerate, then serve.

Serves: 6 to 8
